G.P.S. Bandol: Part-2: Creative Learning Methods adopted:

Smart Classes:

Smart Class Room

In the  normal routine, parents and related Officers can video conference with these students online. Resource Persons on a specific topic are invited to share their experiences with these children. Children wait for such moments impatiently. This initiative has made the process of learning and teaching very effective and interesting.

Activity Based Learning:

The students of G.P.S. Bandol are being provided with practical exposure of their subject topics, which helps them to understand topic related concept easily.

Bag Less School:

Bag Less School

This initiative was taken in the academic year 2016-17 by the School Management Committee and Teachers, which has received a great success. At present the children enter school premise without the burden of their bags. Books are made available to these children from Book Bank in the G.P.S. Bandol. The homework is noted by children on their Note Copy or paper to home. On the one side, this initiative has reduced burden of bags on these kids, and other side it has provided enough space for kids to sit on their desks.

Inculcating Hygiene Practices among Children of G.P.S. Bandol:

Hygiene kit:

Every student of G.P.S. Bandol has an Hygiene Kit. This kit comprises of a Tooth Paste, Brush, Soap, Nail Cutter and Hanky. This Hygiene Kit is fixed on wall near the desks of these children so that they can access it easily.

Individual Water Bottle:

Every student has an individual Water Bottle to consume when feeling thirsty. The children fill up their Water Bottles from the Water Cooler placed in the School Campus in the morning. Now, the children do not have to go outside repeatedly for drinking water. This concept is the result of the efforts by the School Management Committee and the Parents.

Teeth Brushing Habit after Mid Day Meal and before sleep:

In a routine practice, the students take their lunch after chanting Bhojan Mantra. After completing their meal, these children brush their teeth as a routine practice. These children have learnt the correct method of brushing teeth from hygiene experts and now practicing in routine as an entertainment session. According to the parents, these children brush their teeth even before going to bed for sleep as a routine practice and this routine habit developed by these children has encouraged their family members to adopt the same.

Self Cleaning Practice of utensils after Lunch:

G.P.S. Bandol has significant quantity of Plates, Spoons and Glasses available for Mid Day Meal of children. Cleaning Process is managed by these children by themselves. For the purpose, there has been formed a number of teams. One team mixes washing powder in the tub filled with water. Each children clean its utensils with the sponge and scrubber dipped in the powder mixed water. Then the children wash their utensils with clean water.

Now, the other team has assigned task of checking the utensils washed by children. If there is any sign of food waste and the plate is not properly washed, then the kid again follows the same process of utensil cleaning. This way, the washed utensils are kept in a large tray only after passing these quality checks.

This concept has been one of the effective efforts towards bringing a behavioural change among these kids. Earlier, many of these kids used to attend nature’s call in open. But, since these washrooms have been value added with attractive paintings, these kids have made their habit to use these washrooms in a hygienic manner.

Enabling Factors for G.P.S. Bandol Success:

Local community of surrounding and especially parents and donors have been contributing significantly for the development of School and encouraging the decisions taken to improve the quality of education amongst the children. The School Management Committee is active and ready to act always towards the well being of G.P.S. Bandol.

State Award on Cleanliness and Hygiene

Recently, G.P.S. Bandol has won First Prize in prestigious State Level Award on Cleanliness and Hygiene from the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Other Initiatives:

Generating Awareness through Social Media Applications:

This is effort by G.P.S. Bandol Teachers to sensitize and aware school community about their rights and facilities’ related schemes/ programmes. This initiative is envisaged to create a respected and cooperative work environment between the teachers, parents and children.

Media Coverage:

The practices adopted by G.P.S. Bandol have been covered by various News Papers regularly. On the one side, it promotes the children welfare state/ centre level schemes/ programmes and other side, it has benefited in the enrollment count of G.P.S. Bandol during each Academic session.

    पहले तो धन्यवाद बहुत अच्छी जानकारी ।ऐसे ही स्कूल चाहिए सिर्फ पढ़ाई ही नहीं बल्कि बच्चों के सर्वांगीण विकास के साथ बच्चों की बहुत सही देखभाल का ध्यान gps bandol के स्टाफ द्वारा किया जा रहा है ।कोई जरूरत है ही नहीं school bag की सुना पढा़ है कि हमारे देश में विद्यार्थी खाली ही गुरुकुल जाते थे ओर गुरु अपने से ही शिष्यों को सिखाया करते थे। पता नहीं क्यों लोगों का भरोसा सरकारी स्कूलों से उठ रहा है कारण पूछते हैं तो कहते हैं कि पढ़ाई अच्छी नहीं तो क्या इसका मतलब यह है कि सरकार ने अनपढ नालायक लोगों को अध्यापक बना दिया है ।मुझे तो नहीं लगता सरकार द्वारा कितने प्रकार के टेस्ट दे दे कर कोई व्यक्ति अध्यापक लगता है वह मेरी नज़र मे बहुत प्रतिभावान है बस कमी है तो दर्शन की । Gps bandol की तरह ओर भी कई सरकारी स्कूलों में कुछ न कुछ अच्छा है।अध्यापकों को चाहिए कि अन्य सरकारी व गैर सरकारी सकूलों में जायें सरकारी वजट की राह न देखते रहें खुद से भी कर सकते हैं ।साथ ही समाज के बुद्धिजीवी बर्ग को भी आगे आना होगा आज हर कोई सरकारी नोकरी चाहता है लेकिन सरकारी स्कूल में बच्चों को पढाना नहीं चाहता ऐसी क्या कमी है सरकारी स्कूलों में किताबों से लेकर वर्दी तक ओर तो ओर खाना तक सकूल में सरकार द्वारा दिया जा रहा है। छात्रवृत्तियां, खेलों हर तरह की सुविधा सरकार द्वारा दी जाती है फिर कमी क्या है कि सरकारी स्कूलों में बच्चों की संख्या कम होती जा रही है ओर बाहर बैठे व्यवसायी शिक्षा का व्यापार कर रहें हैं जो अमीरों को ही नहीं गरीबों को भी लूट रहे हैं।क्योंकि देखा-देखी है।
